Worship"You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created.” “The Lord takes delight in his people.” You were planned for God’s pleasure, and while we believe in salvation apart from works, we can make God “smile” by the way that we live our lives. Bringing pleasure to God is what we call worship. It is daily denying ourselves and living for Him. The Bible says to “offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1).” What this means is that we take the life God has given us and offer to live it for Him. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” This is how we fulfill the biblical purpose of worship in our lives. It starts with cultivating our relationship with God, then works it's way outward to affect every part of our living. At Lakeside, we try to lead our church to fulfilling the biblical purpose of worship. Through corporate worship and teaching on Sunday mornings, and by taking part in a life group, we are striving to sharpen each other and transform our lives from the inside-out. Join us each week as learn how to become true worshippers of God. If you would like to know more about the 5 purposes of the church, we would ask you to consider signing up for our connection class. This class not only introduces you to our church, but also gives you the opportunity to serve or even take part in membership should you choose to do so. |
